Floral Crowns

As usual, the inspiration from this came from a photo I ran across on Pinterest. Thats basically how things go around here. I see something and then wrangle whoever I can to recreate it with me :)

I actually contacted Susan K Adams, a photographer who lives in Helena, Montana to do this shoot with me. I had met her at a Bridal Tour and wanted to expand my network of photographers, and she was excited to shoot!

We really did not have a specific color scheme for the florals and shoot we were doing, but as usually, Remy at Labellum flowers nailed our inspiration. The flower crown she made for us was so gorgeous and captured the style we wanted perfect, and the colors she chose were so vibrant!

The presence and aura we were aiming for in this shoot was one of romance, light and airy and happy feelings, and our model, Tori, nailed it (lets see how many times I can say that in this post). She looked like a beautiful river nymph.

Although we didn't have a set color scheme, I knew that I wanted to use gold tones on Tori's eyes, and I also wanted to add a pop of purple, which I did with eyeliner. The eyeliner can be found here: http://www.ulta.com/retractable-eyeliner?productId=xlsImpprod4141599&sku=2242431&cmpid=PS_Non!google!Product_Listing_Ads&cagpspn=pla&CATCI=aud-297714761031:pla-306639152581&CAAGID=42273894909&CAWELAID=1198722578&catargetid=330000200001162938&cadevice=c&gclid=Cj0KEQjw7dfKBRCdkKrvmfKtyeoBEiQAch0egZyJrHHdJZWg9VPLjFtX2NiSM9xozz1t_YJYDSiaKEYaAmMU8P8HAQ

Okay thats a long link. Labellum did great with incorporating that same purple into some of the flower crown, which I loved!! Any time you're using a flower crown, be sure to secure it with some bobby pins, especially if you will be moving around a lot, the crown can easily slip. This crown was large and rather heavy, so I used a lot of pins to help hold it in place.

This shoot happened during a warm Indian summer day, and we were unprepared and sans bug spray, so poor Tori was eaten alive, but you'd never be able to tell! She was such a trooper!

We did this shoot without any real intentions of submitting it anywhere, but Susan showed it to Rocky Mountain Bride and it actually made it on their blog! See that here:
