Best Eyeliner!!!

Hey y'all! Do I say y'all too much?? Oh welll.... Anyways, thanks for coming back for another week of excitement here on the blog. I am super hyped to share some of my favorite eyeliners, both gel and liquid, with you today. This was a requested post by one of my followers, and I am looking forward to showing you what works for me with eyeliner!!

Before we jump in, this is a throwback to this gorgeous summer look I did on our model Sarah Bates, who rocked this cut crease look I wanted to create. All photos are by Cherry Snapshot Photography. Let me know what you think of her eye look, it was definitely one of my favorites!!

This first eyeliner I am going to talk about I bought because I saw a lot of beauty bloggers using it and I really wanted to try it out. This eyeliner is the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in the shade Trooper. This eyeliner retails for $20 and also comes in a dark brown shade. This is a felt tip liner, and at first I was not sure I was going to like this liner at all. Before this liner I was using a liner with a brush and so the felt tip was hard for me to get the hang of at first, but this liner has definitely become a favorite. It is a really pigmented black and it is also matte, not shiny.

One thing that I noticed with this liner that I do not like is that the website describes it as a 24-hour wear, and I do not feel like this liner lasts that long. I definitely notice that if I smudge my eyes or touch it on accident, or by the end of the night, it doesn't always look as good as it once did. So that is the one thing about this liner that really bummed me out, but I still love it, I have still repurchased it multiple times and I will still keep using it.

This next eyeliner is definitely a favorite and it was one of the first eyeliners I ever bought. I feel like I compare all other liners to this NYX Matte Liquid Liner. This liner retails for $6.99 and is also available in Vinyl finish, which gives it a little more of a shiny black look. I have both of these liners and I personally prefer the matte look, but that is more just a personal preference.

I feel like for this price point, this liner performs very well. Rather than having a felt tip, this liner actually has a small, fine point brush tip. This liner is very pigmented and easy to apply. It is also very long lasting. Like VERY. I mean this stuff is not going to budge and when you go to take it off with makeup remover, you have to RUB. hard. So I love that about this liner because I can be confident that it will look good all day when I wear it.

This next eyeliner is also a drugstore liner and was recommended to me by a fellow makeup artist. The Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner is one of the best gel eyeliners I have found. It also comes with a brush but the brush that I use with the liner is the Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Bent Eyeliner Brush and it works great with the liner. This liner retails at $9.99 and is a great gel liner option.

This liner is very creamy, pigmented, and easy to blend. Obviously, I feel like the application of gel liner takes me a little bit longer if I include it in my routine, but this liner is great if you are wanting to create a little bit of a smudged look. This can also be used on the undereye in the waterline. I feel like this liner is also very long lasting and it stays very creamy in the pot. I have had a lot of gel eyeliner brands dry out on me really quickly but I've had this liner for almost a year and it still works great!

This next eyeliner is another gel liner that is great for using in the tightline and waterline, and can be great of smudging as well. The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil retails for $20 and comes in 37 shades but I have only tried the shade Perversion so far, which is the matt black shade.

The only thing I don't like about this eyeliner is that when you sharpen it, it gets really jagged and you have to be careful when using it so you don't scratch your eye or waterline :( Otherwise this liner is great as far as longwear, and you can even set it with a black eyeshadow if you want to help it stay on even longer.

So those are some of my ride or die liners that I know I can rely on! Let me know if you try any of them or own them and what your thoughts are. And if you have and idea for a blog post shoot me a message!!

Thanks for reading, I'll see you next week!
