Favorite Hair Products!!

First post of 2018!!! Woop Woop!! Thanks for your patience while I got over my cold. I seriously was so uninspired and just felt miserable. But I'm ready to get back at it and I have some amazing content to share with you! Like this awesome shoot below. Keely McKay Photo and I put this shoot together about month ago and we are SO happy with how it turned out! We pulled inspiration from pomegranate reds, blues, and lots of greenery. Needless to say, Budget Bouquet NAILED this bouquet for us!! Don't forget to check out the rest of the vendors at the bottom of this post!

Since this hairstyle was artistically challenging, I figured I would start out my 2018 blog by talking about my favorite hair products to date. This will include styling products as well as hair care that I have been using and loving. So here we go!

P.S. totally unrelated, but if you have not yet seen The Greatest Showman in theaters. . . get there. I have already been to it two time and have the whole soundtrack on my phone and know it by heart! It is so amazing!! Love it. Anyways :)

Let's start with some hair care products. I am currently using Pureology Shampoo and Conditioner when I wash my hair, which is at most, twice a week. I am using the Hydrate line which is linked above. This line is pH balancing and smells like mint, which I love. I recently bought the blue line (the strength line), which I did not like near as much. I didn't feel like it was as conditioning and it didn't make my hair feel as soft. My hair is color treated and I use heat on it a fair amount, so anything to keep it feeling healthy and not like it's falling apart is what I aim for :)

I am also currently using the Colour Fanatic Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, also by Pureology. You apply this in the shower after you have used conditioner, or in the place of conditioner, and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing. I am loving this and I love how it makes my hair feel! It is specifically made for color-treated hair, so if that's you, give it a try!

Usually after the shower I like to finish off my hair with one leave-in product as it air dries. I always shower at night and allow my hair to dry naturally, These are some of the products I switch up and use as leave-ins for my hair.

I will sometimes use the CHI Silk Infusion reconstructing complex as a leave-in. This smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling super soft. They also make one with Keratin in it to strengthen your hair.

Another product I will sometimes use is the Aveda Dry Remedy Moisturizing Oil. This is a moisturizing oil that helps bring moisture back into the hair. This is silicone free which is great too. I've had this bottle forever and because its an oil it doesn't take much!

The last leave-in that I use is the Pureology Hydrate Shine Max.

This of course smells amazing. But too much of this one and you hair will be a shiny mess, so be careful! These are usually the three products I trade off using as a leave-in right now. I am trying some samples of different things though so those might pop up on my story now and then.

Next category is a couple dry shampoos I have been recently loving. I am a die hard user of Johnsons baby powder but these two products have helped me out of that rut, at least for a while :)

The first is the Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo. This has an amazing smell and gives me great grit and texture while eliminating the oil from my hair entirely.

The other dry shampoo that I am IN LOVE with is the Monat (Modern Nature) The Champ Conditioning Dry Shampoo. I tried this after I had tried some other products in the brand, and this is my favorite product so far. This dry shampoo gives my hair such. Good. Texture. I can't get over it. And it gets rid of the oil no problem! I am already out of this after barely using it for two weeks and I will definitely repurchase.

Okay, now into styling products. I am only going to mention my OG ride or die products so this doesn't turn into a 500 page novel.

This first product I don't carry in my kit and I do not use on my clients, but you would have to pry this out of my hands to keep me from using it on myself. My favorite hairspray to use on myself is the TRES Two Extra Hold Hair Spray. I know. A whole giant drugstore bottle for only $5.99? Guys this is the real deal. I love this stuff. I used this for my wedding and it has amazing humidity control. And it smells so good. Why do I not carry it in my kit? Well, the next product is my die hard for my kit and I haven't felt the need to bring this spray along as well.

My OG kit hair spray is the Sexy Hair Spray and Play. I think I have mentioned this spray before but it is a high hold hairspray. I mean high hold. I have tried other sprays and this one so far is my favorite. That bridesmaid updo isn't gonna budge. Enough said.

Last product in my hair faves is, hands down, Kenra's Texture Spray. I cannot tell you how many bottles of this I go through in a year. In a week. I use this on every client when I am prepping their hair. Even if they don' want much volume or if they want a sleek style. I use this on everyone. This product gives the hair texture without weighing it down or making it sticky, caked, or waxy feeling. The perfect amount of "grit" is achieved in this product. And this product reaches farther than updos. You can use this for bombshell curls, a fluffy braid, or even to give flat hair a little extra somethin'. Try it and let me know what you think!!

That is it for my favorite hair products at the moment! Let me know what you would like to read next, and if you try any of these products, let me know how they worked for you!
